Frequently Asked Questions...
Do I need an appointment?
Yes: You will need two appointments; your initial evaluation
for the impression of your feet to be taken and to consult with
one of our practitioners and a second appointment for the final
fitting of your orthotics
Will my insurance cover the charges?
No: Most insurers do not cover the cost of foot orthotics
(Persons with diabetes, see that section)
Do I need a prescription?
Yes: You will need a physicians order.
How much do they cost?
Approximately $200-$250 per pair. The majority of orthotics
ordered by physicians are custom molded. The costs cover your
appointments and 90 days follow up and adjustments.
How long does it take to make them?
Two weeks: Most orthotics are ready for delivery in approximately two weeks.
What type of shoes can I wear and should I buy new shoes before I get my orthotics?
Orthotics will best fit in tie shoes and sneakers. Woman’s dress shoes, slip on shoes
(sandals, slippers), or men’s loafers are not compatible with orthotics. Orthotics are
made to the mold of your feet, not the mold of your shoe. Do not buy new shoes before
receiving your orthotics. In many cases existing tie shoes and sneakers will
accom-modate them without difficulty. But in some instances, you many need to
purchase shoes that are a half size bigger or wider or a shoe with a removable in-sole.
Do you sell shoes?
No.
How long do orthotics last?
Approximately 1-3 years depending on the
type of material and amount of use.
